MAKING

“For most of my life I’ve been interested in making things. I built my first house when I was 21. It was a ruin that I rebuilt stone by stone. From that moment I started to seriously develop my skill for working with my hands.
For many years after that I divided my time between working with leather in my workshop in Mallorca for part of the year and in Paris, where I was able to develop my eye for style.

Meeting Louise brought another element to the work that I was doing. As a photographer, she had a great sense of style and vision for new ideas, which gave a renewed enthusiasm and a fresh eye to my work.

Over the last 12 years, we have talked, researched and developed ideas together. Louise doesn’t work directly with the materials, but with ideas that challenge me to find different ways of doing things. Working together is constantly stimulating and fun.”
